PURIFIED IN BLOOD: 'Under Den Svarte Himmel' Video Released
August 12, 2010"Under Den Svarte Himmel", the new official video from Norwegian metallers PURIFIED IN BLOOD, can be viewed below. The song comes off the group's sophomore full-length album, "Under Black Skies", which was released on June 7 via Spinefarm Records. The CD was produced by Ashley Stubbert (a U.S. producer/engineer/mixer who moved to Norway two years ago) in the band's hometown of Stavanger, and mixed by Matt Bayles (MASTODON, ISIS, BOTCH) in Seattle.
Since first coming together in 2003, PURIFIED IN BLOOD has toured throughout Europe and the U.S., shared stages with the likes of SLAYER, MASTODON and IN FLAMES, and picked up the occasional award along the way (i.e. the Alarm award for "Best Live Act" in 2006).
Now, the sextet is back with a new album that, in the words of guitarist Tommy Svela, "reflects a decade of terror and decay. It drags you down and rips you apart.
"With 'Under Black Skies', we have evolved musically and lyrically into something we are really proud of…"

The intro and the outro on the album were created by the mighty ULVER from Norway.
PURIFIED IN BLOOD's previous album, "Reaper of Souls", was released in the U.S. in June 2006. The band, which was previously hailed as one of the most exciting acts to emerge from Norway since TURBONEGRO, combines blazing riffs and solos with controversially political lyrics. One might say that the group's innovative concept of "metal with a message" is something akin to EMPEROR-meets-EARTH CRISIS.
Boasting six members with two lead vocalists and a twin-guitar attack, PURIFIED IN BLOOD had become known for its high-energy live performances. In fact, the group won Norway's national underground music contest for unsigned bands (Zoom) in 2004, and the award for "Best Live Act" at Norway's prestigious Alarmprisen in 2006.
